- You need to be fasting for this test.
- The collection must be made before 11.30 a.m. on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday and returned the same day by post at a drop-off point or by scheduling a pick-up by 12 noon.

Urea
A ureia é um produto residual resultante da degradação de proteínas. A ureia é depois expelida pelo corpo através da urina. Um elevado nível de ureia pode indicar que os rins não estão a funcionar corretamente ou ser um sinal de desidratação. É importante notar que, mesmo que um dos seus rins apresente problemas os resultados obtidos podem estar dentro de valores normais uma vez que que basta apenas um dos rins estar completamente funcional para que haja um correto funcionamento.
Creatinine
A creatinina é um produto residual que é gerado pela degradação muscular. A creatinina passa na corrente sanguínea e é expelida através da urina. A creatinina pode ter níveis mais altos em desportistas do que em pessoas que fazem pouco desporto e, é um marcador da função renal pelo que pode ajudar no diagnóstico de doenças renais.
TFG (taxa de filtração glomerular estimada)
A TFG avalia quão bem os rins estão a funcionar pois permite-nos estimar a quantidade de sangue filtrada através dos rins.
