Tested parameters
Total PSA
PSA (Prostate Specific Antigen) allows the detection of prostate problems, including cancer. The test measures the total amount of PSA, both bound and free, making it easier to identify possible abnormalities. Elevated levels may indicate the presence of prostate disease, although they are not exclusively specific for cancer.
Total Testosterone
Total testosterone includes all the testosterone present in the body, both free and bound to proteins. This parameter is essential for assessing overall hormone production and can help identify normal, low or elevated levels of the hormone. Testosterone is essential for sexual health, maintenance of muscle and bone mass, and influences the distribution of body fat.
SHBG (Sex Hormone Binding Globulin)
SHBG is a protein that binds to sex hormones such as testosterone and estradiol, regulating the amount of free hormones in the blood. SHBG levels can influence hormonal balance, affect mood, libido and weight management. Measuring SHBG helps identify hormonal imbalances and better understand the availability of free testosterone.
Cortisol
Cortisol, produced by the adrenal glands, is essential for regulating metabolism and stress response. Abnormal levels may indicate problems such as chronic stress or adrenal gland dysfunction. Measuring cortisol helps assess how the body is dealing with stress and the overall function of these glands.
Creatinine
Creatinine is a waste product generated by the breakdown of muscle and excreted by the kidneys. High creatinine levels may indicate problems with kidney function or conditions such as dehydration. This parameter is essential for assessing kidney health and diagnosing possible kidney diseases.
