Symptoms such as fatigue, weight fluctuations, mood swings or skin problems can be signs of thyroid disease.

The Thyroid Panel home lab test tests your thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), free T3 (T3), and free T4 (FT4) to check for any disorders affecting your energy, weight, mood, sleep, or skin problems. An underactive thyroid indicates hypothyroidism , and an overactive thyroid is considered hyperthyroidism.

Once diagnosed, it is important to monitor your levels to ensure they are within ideal ranges.

Tested parameters

Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH):

TSH is a hormone produced by the pituitary gland in the brain. TSH stimulates the thyroid gland to produce thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3). These hormones regulate the body's metabolism and function as regulators of energy expenditure, cardiac function, muscle physiology, and substrate turnover.

Free Thyroxine (FT4)

Free thyroxine (FT4) is the biologically active form of thyroxine, a hormone produced in the thyroid gland to regulate metabolism. High levels of FT4 may indicate an overactive thyroid (hyperthyroidism), low levels of FT4 may indicate an underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism).

Triiodothyronine (T3)

Triiodothyronine (T3) is one of two vital hormones produced by the thyroid gland, playing a key role in regulating the body's metabolism. T3 is considered more biologically active than thyroxine (T4) and is produced both directly by the thyroid and by the conversion of T4 to T3 in other cells of the body. This hormone plays a critical role in several bodily functions, including proper growth and development, maintaining healthy central nervous system function, and influencing mood and energy levels. Variations in T3 levels may indicate thyroid disorders and other metabolic problems.
